I need to install an extended driveshaft for my extension box. How is this done? It seems like there are two snap rings on the inside of the yoke and it is pressed into place. Is there something I am overlooking, or is it that simple?

You need to get a u-joint installation tool. You can find it at any auto parts store that rents tolls, or take it to your local Marine Dealer, and have it changed. This needs to be install correctly!

Does any one have a good mechanic in Dallas?

I do not have confidence in the local shops in the area. I called a couple places and they hardly knew what I was talking about.
They would freak if they saw this trick drive and a long drive shaft.

I have the bravo service manual and it seemed fairly strait forward. What should I watch out for?

I just snap the rings out and use a Large C Clamp and a sockett to press the u-joint cups out, The socket is just under the size of the bering cup. Be care full you dont drop the needle bearings out. You have to do it twice to each joint in order to get both cups out.

I'm with Raypanic here. I did it with a C clamp, sockets and a couple of washers.

If it has the large u-joints like the XR, you have to work a little harder, forcing the u-joints on the long shaft.
