Default Boston Police get Intercept Go Fasts

Very interesting...just saw a feature on the local news (channel 7)about the Boston Police getting two go fasts designed and produced by a company called Intercept located in Marshfield Ma. Patented air entrapment hull the owner says in the best handling design available. The footage they showed looked impressive. I'd estimate the boat is in the 35' range and powered by 2, 300 HP Merc outboards. They were running about 70 mph and made a hard 90 deg. turn, loaded with 5 guys, without missing a beat.

The PD will be getting the boats in April to start patroling the harbor. How do you get this duty!

The company owner said the Navy tried to grab the design but backed off when Senetor Kennedys office intervened. Now he's in negotiations with the Navy to provide boats for homeland defense.

Anyone ever heard about this company or know anything about his claims and the boats?

Very interesting.

I have seen this brand name before, seems that they are big in center consoles. Good looking lines if I remember right.

As for the hard turn at 70 with five guys, that can jump up and bite them in the ass if they aren't careful and well trained.

Keep us posted.

That's the boat....looks like I was a bit off in my length estimation!
Cool web site.

That would be cool cruising around Lake Winni --- gunboat gray. Freaking out the Marine Patrol...

27ft Cat Man those figure 8s are impressive but it still is 27ft outside of the harbour in the rough Atlantic I think some fillings will get jarred loose. Then again I'm shure they have dental.

The bottom is VERY similar to the Arnow 27 Cat. Not a very speedy design. Lake X rigged one of these a few years back. It was even in the Mercury Racing catoluge.

They are dreaming with that crude design; plus only 27 feet in an open sea forget it.
