Default Arch - Yes no?

What do you think looks better, I like it both ways. It's a 47' Lightning

I think the arches look good on the 47, since it is such a longer boat, not a bad choice either way.

I have an arch on my 40' Wellcraft Excalibur Hawk and although I voted No I have left mine on the boat mainly because the Bimini/Camper Top brackets are attached to it, I may remove it this season and see if I can still use the tops....I do think the boat would look better without it,....Fred

Ray,

If you're going to use the boat for longer cruises/weekends, the arch makes it a lot easier to add radar, plus you'll get much better VHF range from an antenna mounted higher. Just a thought - if it were me (and my family) a little added insurance via radar and VHF range would be a no brainer.

I just like having radar for the nights after a few to many.... and it makes it much easier to mount the brass pole

I am going to have to say that with a 47'er I like the looks of the arch. Normally I would say no, but I believe you have an exception to the rule. I also agree 100% w/ dockrocker!

No, never on a performance boat. OK on a cruiser.
