I have a 1997 302 Boss w/7.4 Mercs (Not Mags). My wife and I really like the boat. It's Red & Black and Very Clean. We're topping out in the low 60's. I'd like to upgrade my engines without sacrificing reliability. Since mine are not 454 Mags, I've read that Blowers are not a good option. Do I try to sell my engines and buy new ? Where would I go in the Atlanta area for that ? The motors are in excellent shape with only 250 hours on them.

Sell them and upgrade.

I would call Bob Teague and ask him he has talked about upgradeing these engines with new heads intake , cam ,exhaust and a 830 cfm carb with huge gains www.teaguecustommarine.com

Depending how much you want to jerk around with the engines, you might be better off swapping in 502MPI Magnums and selling the 7.4s. I have a 96 302 with twin 502 MPI Mags and I run in the mid 70's all the time, hopefully more once I get my props back from Houston Propeller.
Blowers are the most bang for the buck, but resale is not as easy, although my Shooter had a blown 454Mag and it went pretty quickly.

www.1800RUNSNEW.com
www.repropower.com
Go with twin HP500EFI's
If you get bored with that I think whipple has a supercharger that will boost power output to around 750hp

Well I guess it's pretty clear that I need to repower and unload my 7.4's. This sounds so easy online. In reality, you can't just put two powerboat motors on eBay. I don't know if this is an undertaking I am willing to trust to my local Baja Dealer (Park Marine). I guess the major concern I have is that I don't want to sacrifice reliability. I want to spend my time enjoying the boat not working on it. Any ideas on selecting a source for repowering by 302 in the Atlanta area and unloading my 7.4's are appreciated.
