A sad day for all. Althought I have not watched for 30+ years he was still one of the last "good" guys who seemed to avoid the normal problems associated with working with young children. I am sure he has lots of fans where he went.

Pantara, I bet there are few on the board who actually watched him. Most have heard of him though. There was an Urban Legend that he was a sniper for the military. It was just a Legend though.

A very sad day indeed. I watched him when I was a little cowgirl. Everyday on PBS. He will be missed.

I don't know if this is true or not but a few years ago I heard that he also counsoled married couples on sex.
Just imagine how messed up your sex life must be to go to Mr. Rodgers for help !

I grew up watching him and I had hoped my kids would be able to as well. It is sad that he didn't live longer. I will be 40 this year and I think he was only 72? . Wow Life is short!!!!!

Used to come home from school and watch him everyday.

He passed away at 74 yrs old - had been battling with stomach cancer for a while now.

Hope they keep airing the shows.

Wow, 74. That beats the average by 2 years Maybe he had stomach problems from having to bend down to tie his shoes I am sure he will be on TV for some time but may vanish over time....kind of like BOZO.

I watched him a lot when I was a tot; too. I always wondered why that damn trolly did not go any faster. Maybe it needs a Whipple. RIP Mr. Rodgers.
