My last boat had it on a single motor. It was really not bad. Only time I could notice a slightly stiffer steering was at idle and when trying to turn wheel fast, otherwise just fine. Mine was the dual ram Lathem add-on, so don't see how it would be any different than a twin motor with dual rams. Same number of rams.
Besides, better than none and can always upgrade later.

Thats what I'm thinking.....some is better than none! I'm teedering on the edge of a layoff and really dont have the money but I really should make the upgrade....1993 31 Sonic ss running 75 and tips the scale at 7700 lbs. steering would be a good thing!

I have been in a couple boats with add on systems. They are fine. I do not turn my wheel much at all around the docks anyhow that is what I have two engines for You can also drill out some orifaces to help out with your idle turning if you feel it to be to stiff after you are done. I am going with the add on system for sure and I am not worried about it at all.

Audio,

I as well want an add on system from Maxx. I am trying to get some dimensions from him with little feed back. I need to make sure that the rams will clear my silent thunder. I do not want to miss the intro price

Dyno,

An add on system is a great place to start. The most important thing an add on will give you the same strength as full hydraulic. Just not the same steering power.

Dyno,
Yes you do, but the center of your drives should be open. I will look for a pic of my set up.
