Will the trim pump for the drives work on the K-tabs or are they a differant type pump ? They don't look the same, but the tabs have dual cylinders just like the drive trim. Anyone had any experiance with this? The drives are 1989 TRS, and the tabs are Merc's dual ram large Tabs 1989(keikhafer).

They will work fine, just remember that the hi-pressure line on the pump = blue wire = down on the tabs.

You can use just about anything for fluid, the spec has changed over the years. ATF or 10-30 oil is fine.
As far as bleeding, I just run the tabs up & down a few times. I have never done anything to bleed the system, even though it is not a bad idea.
