mercruiser 525 sc

hello have a 99 525 sc what type of oil should I use in the blower? previous owner thought but was not sure about using 30 weight any input would be helpful thanks all !,Michael

Use the Merc High Performance Gear lube--same stuff as the outdrive or an equivalent 80-90wt gear lube.

really 80-90 weight gear oil in the blower ?should i use a synthetic oil ?

80-90w is a good wieght to use....you are only lubbing the gears that are turning the 2 rotary shafts.

I always use synthetic in my blower. The merc hi-perf lube is synthetic. Use that or a Mobil 1 equivilent.
