Completely stupid, Are ambulances, police and fire trucks only to travel at posted speeds? Now that the boat sunk was there more damage to the environment because of fuel / oil spill???? Idiots!

Record number of mantees were killed last year by boats?
Well let's see? If the number of areas of no wake zones increased, perhaps that is a contributing factor?
My own opinion, the higher your boat is out of the water means there is less chance of hitting one!

If I was the boat owner I'd sue the STMC for his loss.
It's because of the STMC that the rescue boat couldn't get to them in time. If they hadn't forced the enactment of slow speed zones his property could've been saved. What if a person died during the time he was held up by the cops?

That's BULLSH!T!!!

"Last year, 95 manatees were killed by boats in Florida waters, a record in the state. Environmental groups have pursued federal help and additional regulations to improve manatee safety, but boaters have denounced attempts to increase restrictions."
