Sorry to rant,I'm just mad right now.Guy from out of state emails about a boat I had on-line,said call him,he would take it. We exchanged emails and faxes and phone calls, could he pick it up this weekend? Sure,I said,we rigged it,detailed it ,discovered a minor problem with the shift switch, had one overnited from Merc, lake tested the boat today in the rain,I emailed him that it was ready. He replied he found another boat, but thanks. After 35 years in this business you would think I would know better, unfortunately I still trust people, but I'll get over it. Robert

Simple solution, credit card # for deposit before I even put the prop on,that's what Karen just told me, she is smarter than I am in today's market, I'm from the old days when a handshake meant something,I'll listen to her from now on.

That sucks, but look at it this way. You went for a boat ride, detailed the boat. fixed the minor bugs etc. Now she's ready to go. You were going to have to all of that at some point so f#$k it.

That sucks. I've always said a man is only as good as his word. When I made the deal on the 302, I told Bill I'd take it, but it would take me about a week to get the money. I asked him if he wanted a thousand dollar deposit to hold it, but he said no, just call him when I got the money. I did and everything worked out smoothly for both of us. It's nice dealing with someone who takes pride in their word as much as you do yours.

I have someone driving down as I speak from Detroit to pick up a new Donzi 16,he asked me Tuesday if he needed to send a deposit to hold it,I said no,your word is enough for me. He called me north of Nashville, will be at the store early Friday. For every deal that goes bad, there is another one that is good. I'll just keep doing what I've been doing all these years, lose one sometimes , but trust still works for me.
