Default need help from the pros / lifter hight V's valve geometry

I just got a set of crane hydraulic roller lifters from a friend. i checked the over all length of the lifter by getting a push rod and cutting a piece off 1 inch long and placing it in the lifter and measuring from the top of the rod to the roller.

the new set of lifters I have is .147 longer than what I had.

My push rods lengths are 8.750 and 7.800
rockers are 1.7 crane gold roller
valve stem hight is standard.

I would like to get moving tonight on re assembling the motor but I just want to be sure that the lifter hight wont screw anything up.

The only way to truly know what length pushrod to use is to measure it. One size fits all doesnt work real good. Deck height, gasket thickness etc make a difference. Find an adjustable pushrod and measure what you need. Use a real rocker arm, the plastic ones are junk. Having said all that, check Cranes website, I belive you need a longer pushrod, and they'll probably work. After you run em a while, check the wear pattern on the top of the valve, it should be right in the center of the top of the stem.

I agree with DanB. They make several different lengths of pushrods and you will need to take some measurements to find the correct length.
