Usually when I go out I travel light...today I had about 5 people on board with lots of food and drink...all totaling about 1000 lbs. When ever I would get on it the boat couldn't seem to get on plane...no I don't have tabs but I am running a 454 with 330 hp...does this sound possible...she would sit at about 2000 rpm for 2 minutes then ever so slowly come on plane and top out a few mph slower then my normal top end...does the extra weight make that big of a difference?

How is it when just a few people are on board, is it realatively slow to get on plane, maybe your X dim. is set to high and geared towards top end. Try a spacer, a 1/2"-1" really makes a difference on getting on plane, we have a few excellent used ones for sale that you can try, if not return them for a full refund, let me know if I can help, Jeff.

Also, if your engine rev's a little on the low side of the recommended RPM at WOT when the boat is empty, you may try dropping a couple inches off the pitch on another prop to get better torque loaded down.
