7.4 in a 288????
#1
Ok some of you might of heard My procharged 502 broke after 4 seasons and 290+ hrs. Well Monday I pulled her out of the boat, and installed my spair 7.4 MPI 310 HP motor I had. Went out tuesday for a test run, and got only 50 +- MPH
with a 23 Mirage Plus ...
My question is... Who is running a 7.4 MPI 310 HP in there 288, and what speed and prop are they seeing/using????
I can't see myself going the rest of the season like this

hey Mark, bring your spair 22" prop this weekend, and if your not going to be around, Leave it in the shed, "0058" (you do remember the code, don't ya
).
BTW, stripped the motor down today and it's at the machine shop getting a new piston. If all goes well, I should have it for Thursday
. And If I can swap a motor and be running in 4 hrs, I should be able to get it together in time for 2 weeks from now...( Fingers Crossed)

Hey Kanookstr,
The 22 will probably give you a little more, I'm pretty sure we've only done 1 ever 288 with a 7.4 and as far as speed went if my memory serves me right (it was 1998) was close to 60 and that was tested in December of 98 on a very, very, very, very cold day.
Hope this helps
