Props

What have you guys found to be the fastest running 4 blade props? I've got a 29 Outlaw twin 502's with Imco headers , RPM kits, Roller Rockers, Ported intake manifold and nose cones by Bobs machine shop. I had Mirage Plus 27's but now I can barely get up on plain with them, kept breaking loose. Tried 26 Bravo 1's bit hitting to high of RPM. I know 28 or 30's would work but just wondering if there's someone that makes them the same diameter as the Mirage Plus. I'm thinking smaller diameter with 4 blades should still give me the same top end as a 3 blade.

I run labbed 30" bravo's,
you can't get them to break
loose.
A couple years back when I
was running labbed 28's, I
tried a pair of 25p mirage plus,
it was a ***** to get on plane,
and it ran 2 MPH slower, and
it wasn't due to hitting the
rev limiter either.
These were tested within a
half hour, so there go the
"variables"
Some guys on this board swear
by the 3 blades, I used to too.
All I can tell you is that the bravo's
seem to work best on mine.

I agree, labbed bravos usally pic up a little over a stock mirage, but I would send them to mercury racing, Bronson hill, York, or Throttle up. Use someone with race credintials, Its easy to screw it up
just my .02

Hey Baja,
What kind of speed are you getting out of the twin 502's. I just picked up a 98 with the same engines and switched to 26 Bravos from 25 mirages and run the same rpm's. I can't figure out why but I am only getting 4500 rpm out of either prop and only hitting 68-69mph. I should be running in the mid to upper 70's all day long. I had them checked and the mechanic noticed that the TPS sensors in the throttle bodies are only reading 75% and 82%. That's probably most of the problem. I'll have to get the ECM's remapped to get it back to normal. Just looking for your thought on this

JT what is in your boat, what size and year? What speeds are you getting?
HP500's
best speed, gps: 84.6
Took it out yesterday to do some
prop testing, conditions were smmoth,
90* temp, 1/4 tank of fuel 2 people,
my 30p props: 82.5 mph.
Threw on a set of 27p mirages (not plus's)
had to nurse it out of the hole,(blows out badly)
only ran 78.2 mph, up against the rev limiters.
I guess I just reconvinced myself
that the bravo's are the best for my combo.

I have a 29 Outlaw with 2 496HO's. Boat came with un-labbed 25" 3 blades. Ran about 76mph. Tried un-labbed 26" 4 blades. Only ran about 74mph. Now use labbed 27" 3 blades. GPS best has been 78.6mph.
