Default Where to stay in Long Island/Fire Island?

Looking to go to Long Island or Fire Island this weekend
8/23-8/24. Does anyone have info on a nice marina that is near shops, restaurants, beach and possibly a boardwalk. Looking for a place where we can dock overnight and walk to places at night. Any info would be appreciated. thanks...

Hey Jim,how come you didn't tell him about Kismet?? Oh sorry, you wan't the spot!! HaHa,just kidding Hey sonic,Kismet is good, try getting a spot, and there is a hotel there, ask The Kismet Inn for the # There are plenty of places to go,but none with a hotel that I know of,but as you cruise along the shore, you might find one. Good luck Tripps

26'sonic...I am planning on heading that way myself some time and have researched on Fire Island...I came up with these two sites...they are pretty informative.

This is my area. There are plenty of marinas to overnight at. Hoverver, the popular ones with hotels are Ocean Beach, Cherry Grove, Kismet and Robbins Rest. An internet search will readily provide phone numbers.
