Default season finished, broken engine again - how is yours?

last week i broke one of the engines,

damage:
one bent connecting rod
damaged (erased) camshaft
one bent valve -exhaust
engine was locked but cylinder walls and pistons are OK.Crankshaft will be 010.

will put the pics later

i hope this was an exceptional season cause i spent more time with repairing the boat instead of driving it...

how is your boating season going?

My first two years with "Outlaw", all I did was gas it up and go, besides routine oil changes, drive fluids, etc. This year in the span of two month: replaced both propshafts, seals, upper and lower, rebuilt both "rams" on both Bravo 1 drives, replaced an entire rear axle assembly off my tri-axle trailer that disappeared bringing it home (empty thankfully) from the ramp which we never found a trace of, and six engine hours later lunched a top gearset because of a stupid "collar" ring that cracked and broke inside one of the drives. Almost eight grand worth and my wife is REAL HAPPY....NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And new exhaust manifolds and risers are not too far off. She doesn't know about that yet...Guess I'd better get her bathroom finished.

I feel your pain brothers!

Three years ago I too hydrolocked a 7.4, bent valves destroyed block, cam, connecting rods blah blah. The good thing was the Merlin heads were easily salvaged.
