I had Darin at Houston Prop do the labbing on my 28p Bravo prop. It took a couple of tries to get it dialed in, but once it was it ran great. I ended up improving my hole shot and picking up a solid 2 mph on the top end. This is on a boat that was doing around 67-68 mph and is now at about 70. My mid range is only off by about 2 mph which I think is a pretty good trade for the higher top end. Anybody looking to improve performance by a couple mph should start with your prop. Darin said he would work my prop until I was happy and he did. His number is 281-580-7767.

Perhaps I will swing by and drop mine off to him. I just bought a new 25" Mirage Plus and am only getting 61 MPH at 4800 RPM. For a 22' Scarab, 1.5 Bravo-1, 454-MPI this speed is just pathectic.

I too just had Darin at Houston Prop rework my Hydromotive qaud 15-1/2, 22degree four bladed props. I was running about 4300 tops on the rpm and about 68 mph at WOT with 500 hp 454's. Darin cut about 1/4" off them, took out about 2% and labed them. THE BOAT FINALLY CAME ALIVE!!! GPS went out so I can't report top speed yet but the rpm's went to 5,000 which is what we were shooting for at WOT placing me in the power band of these newly rebuilt engines. The turn around time was about 5 days just as promised and I couldn't be happier. THANKS DARIN, GREAT JOB! These are the guys to send your stuff to if your looking for great service and work.
