Default Can you put bushings in loose Dominator throttle shafts?

My shafts are worn and before I replace the entire carb, can I machine it for bushings or can I just replace the throttle base plate?

I believe that a rebuild shop can. The problem is that they need to be perfectly aligned or the shaft will bind. They usually use a jig for this job.
