Do any of the 28 s out there have a notched transom ? I do Im looking for others and your experences with drive height and props I dont think notches are reacting the same as a straight hull to X dimensions 4 1/2 is to deep for my boat slows down 5 mph or more 3 1/2 seems fastest but has lot of slip / Question of day is slip all that bad if rpm and numbers come around ?

On previous post 28 rel numbers I was trying to get a baseline to go from I never Questioned Jo or Pepes numbers.In this post or any other post .Or Alberts numbers Im only trying to get mine to run as well as it can B-Stubb

I have a '96 notched transom 28. My slip #'s are also high, especially in flat water. A 1-2' chop really helps it out.

I was at 3 1/4 below with the propshaft and it was too high. Just could not get any bow lift. Lowered it an inch and the bow lifts much better. Picked 2 mph and the ride is better.

The slip is still high in the 18-20% range. I spin a labbed 26 Bravo @ 5000-5100rpms and have seen a best of around 66mph.


If you run Vonbongo/Cattitudes slip #'s, they are in the 16-18% range also.

All of these slip #'s go DOWN in salt water as the boat floats higher and has less drag. I think this would hold true for any 28' conventional 24* degree bottom boat.

We are the proud the few notched people /I done a lot of research on this subject slip isnt always bad Its the way of the world right now /salt water, I live in FLA but dont buy any gains because of it / read poker runs america had a article on it Figment of our imagination my boat ran exactly same numbers on lake lanier couple months ago /difference is air we got denser air this is the difference however in 95 degree temp do we realy have beter air ? Any how Slip not always bad you should go faster get the drive out of the water go fast but have to main tain a reasonable prop bite
