I just about have all the parts I need to put my B&M 174 on my HP425. I believe all that I need is some ignition parts. The book says that I may need to go with a MSD 6m-2 or a V-6 Mercury ignition. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

i am runngina 174 and a merc tbolt 4 setup wiath an MSD 6m2 and blaster 2 coil. It works pretty well. So far i'm happy with it. You do need to get a v6 ignition modules for the tbolt though. The v8 modules make your base timing to low.

exactly as puder says, that was my setup on my blown 454. Never had any problems at all.

if you need a wiring diagram for teh 6m-2 and tbolt 4 i have one laying around. send me your fax number and i'll send it.
