Question Which manifolds will fit??

Fastech guys -

Which exhaust manifolds fit the 271 Fastech 502 MPI right out of the box?

My stock manifolds have the extra 3" riser extension from the manifold. Most aftermarket setups I've seen angle down after the riser bend whereas the factory exhaust points straight back. I would like to keep (for now anyway) my stock 4" exhaust hoses to the silent thunder exhaust. It looks like the riser bend angle of aftermarket exhaust manifolds will kink my existing exhaust hoses.

Thoughts???

Get in touch with Stainless Marine, I'm sure they can answer any questions.

maybe you can email board member hauling-ass-a

he put a set of stainless marine exhaust on his 271 502. I know he had to get a 3" longer vertical travel in the pipes.....and i know that they cost more $$ than the normal pipes.

actually i think he may be thinking of trading his boat in this winter and may be putting the motor back to stock before he does. he has exhuast and AZ ECU setup. Only has about 20 fresh water hours on the setup.

Appreciate all of the input. Stainless marine with the extra 3" of rise will set me back about $2400 and the 5-year warranty sounds great.

Hi-perf-2000 -

Do you have hauling-ass's e-mail address? I will see if he wants to strike a deal. I don't have accesss to members through the OSO forum yet.

I had a 1995 271, I canned the stock ones, the 3" riser you mention was a nightmare. I bought a set of Imco power flows and they bolted right on. They had the stainless steel tops and the black cast aluminum bottoms. They were great!
