Hello Baja Guys:
How does this hull respond to HP? We have some idea from working with NEVRENUFF's boat. He Procharged his 454 Mag and picked up almost 20 mph. We dynoed that engine at 650 with dyno headers and 7psi. In the boat he saw 6 psi so maybe 600 HP.
We also dynoed that engine with the prototype supercooler and made 740 HP, an extra 90 HP.
We recently put a production supercooler (with a bigger intercooler core) on the boat and picked up 8 mph. I'm estimating that represents an extra 100 HP. He is now running 85+ mph with a 28 Bravo and an estimated 750 HP. Does that sound reasonable?
Dean Nickerson runs Baja 250 with a Vortech supercharged 498 with ported heads and solid roller cam. He's getting 850 HP on the dyno and 92+ mph in the boat. We are dyno testing a production supercooler on his engine later this month. What does it take to run 100 mph in this boat? (Besides balls of steel
)

A friend of mine a few years back,
put a 496" that dyno'ed at 618 hp
in a 89' 250es, the boat ran in the low
70's as I recall.
So I would guess 750 would get you 85.
I would start playing with shorter drives.
......And add a more HP
