Question Is OSO starting to spam its members ????

This morning I received this email from OSO -

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Happy Holidays to all OSO members. If you are considering buying a Holiday gift for your boat you might want to check out http://www.marinesecurities.com

Marine Securities offers the ultimate protection for all motors and drives (outboard to SSM#6) and best of all just mention that you are an OSO member and you will receive special pricing that is discounted off of the retail you would pay in stores.

Please check your insurance policies as it has been brought to our attention that some policies have clauses (fine print) that require locking devices in order for them to be covered in the event of theft.

OSO does not receieve any compensation for products sold.

I really enjoy OSO, but this is the first email of this type I have ever received from OSO. Unsolicited emails come at me from all sides. I would rather go onto the OSO site and see what it has to offer rather than receive more spam. Is this new or have they done this in the past??

SPAM is something you receive from those whom you do not know. We know OSO!

that and how many emails HAVE you recieved from them in the past? I dont think one out of 1000000 I get a day is any big deal. BTW, I dunno if I got one or not, I have not been home to check my email.

I got that one too. Guess we all did. I dont mind that much, as long as it doesnt happen that often, and is a product that theres a good chance ill have an interest in. Guess the best solution is to have an opt out checkbox on yhour profile page. That way WE can choose whether to get similar emails in the future.....

I don't care if OSO sends them. Like it's already been said - it's from someone I know, and there is a chance I might actually be interested in the content of the message.
Now if I could only get rid of the penis enlargement e-mails, I'd be set. Are those a hint?
