Default Powder coat removal question.

I have to remove the powder coating off my bolster seat bases. I have had many things powder coated before and have never had a problem. I talked to a friend yesterday who told me he went to take his bases last year to be repowder coated and the guy said to bring it to someone to sand blast it . So he did. The sand blast guy said the powder coat was to tuff to sand blast off, so he wanted no part of it . So my question is : can the old powder coat be sand blasted off with a heavy duty blaster? Thanks , Tom

NO, ITS NOT THE BEST WAY, IT EATS AWAY AT THE BASE MATERIAL... I HAVE DEVELOPED A METHOD THAT DOES NOT HARM THE MATERIAL AND PROVIDES A CLEAN SURFACE. PM ME

Acetone!!

Soak the parts in it for a couple of minutes and the powdercoating just falls off. No chit!

This is after a couple minutes of soaking. It's so easy and simple that it's scary

You need to ask BruceK if you want anything regarding powdercoating done. Thundercoatings does work for some of the high end engine builder and his stuff is first rate.

ACETONE......it takes off QUALITY PREPED..... EXTERIOR POWDERCOATING.

$10 for material. 3 min soak time.

Or, in the intrest of sending buisness to OSO members, Send it to someone who has "developed" a method.

Does it have to come off if it's in good shape? I understand that for some of the candy colors it's basicly 2 coats of different colors. If it's chipped or somehow in bad shape, that's another issue.
