Ideas for overnight trips
#1
A lot of us have been talking about overnight trips for the summer. If you have an idea for a weekend trip please post it.
I know that Ian and I are interested in something that involves Milwaukee, possibly Door County.
We are also interested in a MI shoreline trip. Probably somewhere between St Joe and Traverse City. Mackinaw Island is great but it might be to far for most of you.
In addition to weekends we have been thinking about a trip immediately following War Party where we would head up to Door county. Since that is the week after the 4th a lot of the car companies are shut down so some of you might have vacation then. Plus this year we are saving vacation so we can do some three and 4 day weekends.
So please post your ideas and we will see where the majority want to go.

For those of you that have not been to Lake of the Ozarks, I can guarantee an awesome time. The weather on Lake Michigan will definitely be cold. The weather in MO is usually 10-20 degrees warmer over memorial day weekend. If you never been to "PARTY COVE" it something like a girls gone wild video. More offshore boats than anywhere in the country. If anyone is interested, I have been going there for 13 years and have organized trips for 50 and more people.

Forget it, Mr P is not allowed there
How long does it take to haul a boat there from the Chicago area.
Another good spot is Lake Cumberland, definitely warmer than MI but full day's drive from the Detroit area.
Oh well this tread is supposed to be about Lake MI & besides for a dinky lake LOTO gets enough press

10 Hours pulling my boat to tie up in a cove to watch drunks.... I thought you guys were boaters not drunk watchers. I'll pass on LOTO unless you want to go for the shoot out in September.
