Question 10 lbs oil pressure? 525 EFI

It was 40 lbs+, then upon a re-start it only shows 10 psi and doesn't increase when the throttle is applied. The motor is a 2003 early Merc 525 EFI with Gaffrig red line gages. Does anybody have any items to check? The oil level is down about 1/2 a quart. There are no symptoms of low oil pressure except the Gage.

Thanks, John B

Sounds like gage or sender. Go to autozone and buy a cheap mechanical guage to check with. Hopefully that is it. I mount mine into the spare fitting in the remote filter pad.

Like BT said , get a cheapo mechanical guage. That will locate the trouble to the engine OR the guage circuit.
Hopefully it's your present guage

Thanks, I'm wondering if anyone has solved this problem.. This same motor pinned the oil temp gage and the oil pressure went to zero once last year and then has been normal since. It seems like a wiring problem. Anybody seen this one yet?
