Default small supercharger question????

is tehre any advantage to running a wieand177 instead of a holley174?

my engine currently has a holley174 on but i have a spare weiand177 i was going to put on another engine i am biulding. If i can make more HP with the 177 i was thinking about switcing them and running the 177 on the engine that's in my current boat.

Or are we talking a negligable difference that isn't worth going through the hassle of changing them over?

I don't think it would make much difference...also... Holley now owns Weiand..

the "holley"174 is a 2 rotor design

the "weiand"177 is a 3 rotor design

i am aware that both former companies are now one. no MPH advantage to running one blower over the other?

Are you running the 174 on a small block or big block?

There's an interesting article on supercharging:
http://www.gearheadracing.com/Refere...dtheBasics.htm

Not sure if 2 vs 3 lobe makes a difference in leakage/efficiency though.
