Default First pre-ownded purchase

This is our first venture into the performance world and we are looking at 2000 - 2003 35 Executioner's and Lightning's with 500 efi's or carb.

What kinds of things should we be looking for and what should we have a dealer look at or verify.

Wish we could do new/warranty but $$$ won't allow.

Dont have the dealer do anything.
Get an independent survey.
If it checks out, just put aside enoght money for gimbal ring repairs and maybe enough for a new Bravo.
My $0.02

The Executioner
Good thing you asked that question when you did.
This week it would have cost you $50 to ask it!

Have you talked to Bill and Annaball in Virgina about their 35 they have for sale? IMMACULATE, and I mean perfect condition. Bill is anal about keeping the boat nice. They go by Tarheel here on OSO.

Sydwayz, have contacted Tarheel and looking forward to some pics.

I had read a post here a while back that was a fantastic list of things to do during winterization. I guess I was hoping to get some imput along those lines (items / things to look for) in this thread since it is our first venture into 500 engines and different drives and such.

Any input to help me be a better boat purchaser would help. Will be down in KY this weekend trying out a 35 Ex and Lightning trying to figure out the diff between single and twin step - http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...threadid=72686

Thanks
