Would i be ok with water pressure with this setup?
#1
In my previous thread with water in oil I got the conclusion that was condensation in the oil because i was running too cold since i didnt have a t-stat, now i hooked the bypass from the crossover to the t-stat housing and added a 160 t-stat with 3 1/8 holes, temp on gaffrig gauge reads about 180 on muffs, but im not worry about that yet, my main concern is with water pressure, before when i wasnt running the bypass or t-stat apparently didnt have any water pressure issues, to me by logic would seem that its basically the same setup with water circulating to the headers at all times, but i wanna know what you guys think, I havent taken the boat to the lake yet, dont want to run hard and have something blow up on me.
thanks for the advice

I never could get the WP down when using a bypass and stat with holes. Always ended up removing the bypass and using a restrictor instead of a stat. Temp and press. was right on during summer, but cooler in the fall. to point of cond. while idling back to ramp.
Whatever you decide....
I would have a WP gage in dash and keep an eye on it. You may get the temp up when 1st fired up and idleing until the stat opens and WP is in check, but my results have always been once up and moving, the lake water is to cold and the stat will close creating for high WP.
Watch the pressure gauge. If it climbs, back down and rethink.
But then many have no problems. Might incorporate the Merc pressure relief valve before the crossover to handle the pressure issue.
