Default Boat detailing ?

What do you think a real good detail should cost on my 00 42 Sonic. I mean clean everywhere to make it look as new as possible.

I have two kids that clean it once a week for me in the spring / summer when we use it but I am getting it ready to sell and need it spotless.

I have one bid of $1000.00. They say I wont be able to find dirt on it anywhere. I have two people coming out to see it this weekend.

I would do it myself but just had my knee rebuilt 10 days ago and don't see me being able to move like you have to to clean a boat good.

I had a company come out to do it last spring because they said they would detail it for 350, it looked like ass I could have done a better job drunk at night. I wasn't there but my son said it was 3 ugly girl's and they did it all with dry wash.

I got a guy who charges $10/foot on big cruisers/houseboats. $6/foot for express cruisers and cigs.

All he does is glass work. Wetsand and polish dull or stained areas and speedbuff and wax all of it. He bogs down a SnapOn speed buffer like it is gonna quit. The glass is very warm after he goes across it. He's the best I've seen.

His gf comes behind him and cleans upholstery, vacuums, and cleans the windows for $50 to $70.

Between the two of them, All that's left for me to do is detail the gauges and stainless.

$1,000 for a 100% top to bottom, carpet, upholstery, dash windows, bilge, buff and polish is still steep.

Default DETAILING

The average is now $20 to $35 a foot for a complete detail, depending on the boats condition. I've been doing it for 20 years, and have talked to alot of other guys around the country and that seems to be the average. Corrado you will need to use a clay bar and then polish and wax after the polish, I thinck you should be able to find the clay at a larger auto store.Steve

For a thorough job I would figure at least $ 750.00, remember you will get what you pay for. If an extra couple hundred bucks now brings you "X" grand on resale, it's more than worth it.
