Bottom Paint Or Wax

I HAVE A WHITE 42' EXCALIBUR EAGLE, WAS TOLD BY A COUPLE OF PEOPLE THERE IS A CLEAR OR WHITE BOTTOM PAINT OUT THERE FOR SALE. IS THERE SUCH A THING, CAN'T FIND IT NO WHERE, NO ONE THAT SELLS BOTTOM PAINT KNOWS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. SOMEONE ELSE TOLD ME ITS NOT A PAINT ITS A WAX. I'M LOOKING TO KEEP BOAT IN THE WATER BUT DON'T REALLY WANT TO PAINT THE BOTTOM A BLACK OR RED OR WHAT EVER DARK COLOR THEY CARRY. IF IT IS A WAX IS IT ANY GOOD OR AM I WASTING MY TIME.
THANKS

Dolphinite makes something that they claim will keep growth off the bottom of your hull. I think they call it speed-coat. I've seen it before at Boat US - I use theur wax all the time but I don't know anything about this stuff.

I have to keep my boat in the water too...I heard Dolphinite pulled its go-fast clear because of problems but it will be back when they get the formulation right. supposedly it turned brown and was really hard to take off. if you go on a search engine and look up dolphinite they have some bad stories but they may tell you when the new one will be out. I am trying to find either a white or light gray. Interlux has a shark white that I might put on. There has to be something out there. good luck

I WAS JUST ON LINE TRYING TO BUY THAT DOLPHINITE CLEAR BUT IT WOULDN'T GO THREW, THEN I NOTICED THE OTHER POSTING WITH THE HORROR STORIES AND LAW SUITS. I'M GLAD IT DIDN'T GO THROUGH, THEY MUST HAVE TAKEN IT OFF THE MARKET.

THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BRING IT BACK WITH A NEW FORMULA. THE PROBLEM WAS IT WAS NOT EASY TO PREP AND IF ONE THING WAS WRONG IT RUINED THE BOTTOM. I MAY JUST ORDER THE SHARK WHITE BECAUSE IT IS GETTING TOO CLOSE NOW.

Default Hi speed coating

I put the clear Dalphinite on the bottom of my Fountain and it was a disaster. It did nothing to stop algie, it didn't make the boat faster & was a real mess when I pulled the boat out of the water. Unreal.... That much money & you would be better if you greased the bottom.

Dolphite - STAY AWAY.

I just settled on my insurance claim against them.

My understanding is they are gone....and not coming back.

Their product left the bottom of my CC a real mess.

Interlux 'Trilux' the whitest bottom paint on the market.
Now also has 'Trilux II' seems to be almost the same "whiteness"

Originaly formulated for Aluminum, perfectly fine to use on Fiberglass ! Almost no green leaching above waterline too.

I use it .

I JUST CHECKED OUT THE TRILUX...I THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY FOR ALUMINUM AND DIDN'T BUY IT. I WILL GET THAT IF IT WORKS WELL WITH FIBERGLASS. IS IT OKAY TO LEAVE THE SIDES NOT PAINTED TO SAVE YOUR GRAGHICS FROM BEING COVERED UP UNDER THE WATERLINE? I DON'T WANT IT TO HAVE A DIVIDING LINE ACROSS THE GRAPHICS WHEN THE BAOT IS ON PLANE.
