Default Correct x-dim and prop

hey guys, im just tryng to learn about this prop thing and x-dim, Im running a 3 blade 25 pitch Quicksilver mirage LH prop and im getting 68 on gps speedo at 53-5400 rpms, this is in fresh water, I heard that the quicksilver props are not that good and they are different that the regular mercury mirage but it seems that i should be a little faster than that. I measured the bottom of the boat to the bravo housing and its exactly 8 1/2 inches. Different boats require different dims, I hope i can get this boat over 70. I want to know what you guys with 24s are running and specially the x-dim .
thanks for the info.
Forgot, the motor is a 502 435 hp.

You have a 20% slip from the math table, you want to be at around 10% max. The X-dimisions on the 24 are all set at 17. Good luck

Pantera 28, i have no idea how to measure to get the number you have, the only thing I know its that from the bottom of the boat to the bottom of the house measures 8 1/2 inches. I wonder what my number is.

You have to bring your outdrive all the way down, get a straight pole and measure from the bottom of the v bottom to the center of the prop shaft.

call me at 305.882.7000 ext 3201 and I will guide you to it. Albert

Thanks for the offer Albert, boat in the shop right now getting carpet in the cabin put in. Will have it back in a couple of days. I want to find out what the x should be before i start messing with props. Let me say im glad i got a pantera, the thing i was concerned with before i bought anothe boat was the handling on the rough, with wife and kids, and this boat its just awesome, of course now i want to go faster but i dont want to touch the engine since i promised my wife(bad mistake). But im sure you guys will help me with that, thanks for the info and the help.

Carlos where do you launch your boat. If you dont plan to race then leave it alone, it will cost you an arm and a leg to get mph. Just a thaught to keep in mind, try to get the most out of it with what you got before you open the can of worms.

Chances are that your tach is reading a little high and I think the 24 will run better with a rh prop if you have a bravo drive and can try it.

well, i sent the prop to throttle up which was supposed to be a 25 and it is a 23, no wonder i was turning that many rpms, they made it a 24 and added cup, I think all 24s are running a 25 or higher when they have over 400 hp, hope to try it this weekend and see some difference.
