Question 1 or 2 coats of wax

Just spent the last 4 weeks buffing out the boat. Looks like new once again. Does 2 coats of marine wax give more protection than 1, or will it just be wax buildup?
The boat stays in a covered slip on a lift with a full cover all week. Only time exposed to sun is on weekends.

Thanks

2 coats wouldnt hurt if you dont mind the extra work. what kind of wax are you using? and is it 100% gelcoat or do you have paint on your boat?

US1, I am doing the same thing to my 26 Sutphen and has taken me just as long. Mine is all white gelcoat, I am going to try that "Frenzy". Used it in one spot, looks like a mirror.

I don't mind the work at all. Been working every nite since last fall on it, so another few hrs of waxing to protect it is a non issue.
The wax is Boat Armor. It's a Carnauba paste with UV protectant. Boat does have painted graphics in PPG. Otherwise white is Gel.
Thanks,
Jerry

well if that ain't a chitty picture. graphics aren't wavy like that.

Marinetrans, been reading alot of good responses about the Frenzy on the other site. Let us know your final results.

Only 1 coat of Waxing Frenzy!

A second coat will just strip off the first. Saves time and money.

Just waxed my cig by hand this weekend with wax frenzy. Amazing stuff. Mirror finish and easy to work with. Give it try.

A coat of tranny oil will give a shiney finish too.

Thinking of trying the frenzy stuff for later in the summer when time comes for rewax, but until then, keeping an ear open on this wax to see if people still have good results after some time has passed. Waxing time is not my issue, protection is.

2 coats done. Come on summer!

Do you guys typically wax the bow deck? Just picked up a new (used) boat and will be detailing it soon. After walking on the deck thought it may make it too slippery.

I always do. Yeah it's slippery as can be, but it's also shiney and protected from the elements.
