Setup is TRS 454/330 w/MercTrans II. Dipstick says "ATF only", however the fluid on the dipstick isn't red like typical ATF. Not sure what the previous owner has in there. The oil looks clear with a gray tint, definitely not red.

I've read it takes Type "A" Suffix "A" or Ford Dextron, but does anyone know of a synthetic product that will work?

Thanks. So would it be safe to assume that a synthetic ATF indicating "Type A" would be acceptable?

I have had good results with B&M Trickshift Fluid.Although I only have a Wimpy Little Small Block in front of Mine.

I also use the B&M but it is called TRICK SHIFT. It definatly works well and has been recommended to me by guys running BIG hp through these tinny trannies.
