I know Volvo drives are not used by the majority of people in this group. But does anyone know what the HP rating of a 290 duo prop drive is.
I have a boat with a factory 300 hp 454 that I am making some changes to. I expect the engine will be around 375 to 400 hp when I am done. Can the drive take that power? What is the actual rating for this drive.

As far as I know, the 290 can handle more power than a stock bravo one.
One of my friends raced a 750hp 28' with a stock 290 dpx for two years with no problems
