Question how fast will i go?

feb 6 04 i purchased a 82 scarab w/no motors or outdrives its now may 7 and i have replaced transome and motor mounts gauges and electronics interior and captains seats deck and engine hatches new rub rail and gobs of stainless have also imroned boat in and out and replaced gas tank. whew! broke , morally and intellectually bankrupt its motor time. fortunately motors and outdrives have already been paid for and wife is still clueless.i need to run boat before mid-life crisis ends and i realize what an idiot i am. i am probably 1 to 2 weeks before i can turn the key.does anybody out there have any idea how fast 2 350mpi (300 hp)will push me. lets start pool.please post guestamits.also will divorce affect top end?

hehe, what size scarab? They are heavy. Yes, a divorce will make it go faster after you have put the blowers on that she wouldnt let you do before.

I think everyone on here can relate to your thread.

Without even knowing the size, I would say it will be hard to break 60 with those small blocks and I am guessing TRS drives.

26 feet if you measure it in the noon sun. i brought boat home without wife knowing had to take down fence and put it back up and leave before she got home. she discovered boat while standing at the sink doing dishes. when i gort home and was asked what in the hell was in the yard i replied why where you at sink no one in this house cooks. that took her off the boat subject immediately.

Our '83 272 Formula (really nearly 30 ft by today's standards) with 2 260s would run 62mph.

Can the Scarab be that much heavier? With two 300hp mills I'd think it ought to break 60 - no?

I wish my boat would fit in my backyard. But, then I'd be getting a divorece too. ;-)
