Default how do you bleed a hydrualic steering system?

application: 1997 34' magic, twin 502's single power steering pump, dual ram hydraulic steering. no hydraulic's to helm.
system currently has a leak. i plan on finding and fixing the leak
i have purchased a reservoir tank and cap for additional fluid volume.

question: what is the procedure for bleeding the system once leak is fixed, and reservoir is added?

Default Easy one

YOu keep turning the steering all the way left hold it for a second or two, then all the way to the right, hold if for a second or two.

It should then start to stiffer as the air bubbles are squeezed out.

pretty simple craig.

hey krumb, don't you have some software to write or something like that.

i've read other post's indicating a process which requires more than one person, so i thought that additional person in the motor compartment getting dirty could be you . . . ha ha

turning to the stops has worked for me in the past too, but i wanted to see what other ideas are just in case.

I had a leak in my system also. Check the Brazil Valve on the transom, mine came loose and one of the o-rings dropped out. If you don't have the o-ring you will never get it too seal. Then like they said turn the wheel back and forth and press all the air out of the system.
