So can someone tell me what the big difference in these are other than bolt pattern? Are pro-chargers and whipple chargers what we refer to when are matching a Mercruiser and a charger.

The reason I am asking, for a 496 ho, guys are placing 8k whipple chargers on them, but in the street world these only cost 2-3k. Are these "whipple" chargers the only manufacturer than has the same bolt pattern? Please advise and thanks for reading this post.

But wait, come to think about it, isnt a 496 really a GM motor?
