Ladies and Gentlemen:
As the comments have slowed, I would like to see what level of interest all the non-pro class racers have in recommending changes to the current class formats.
After reviewing the Attention: APBA, GLSCS, OPA, OSS, POPRA and SBI thread, would you as a A, B, F-1, F-2, One Design or P-Class racer vote to consolidate to a 2 or 3 class format? The V-80, V-90, and CV-100 class design is just my proposal. Ultimately, the decision to consolidate classes with new rules is up to the sanctioning bodies. What I would like is everyone’s feed back on my concepts and what could be improved in Offshore Racing today.
You can post here, send me a Private Message, e-mail me at [email protected] or send a fax to 214 575 2346.
I promise you total confidentially. I will never use your name or reference your boat without your consent. Next week, I will post all of the statistics here on OSO. If the majority of racers ask for class change, I will personally work with the sanctioning bodies to gain their support.
Please provide the following information:

- I normally race or expect to race _2____ races a year.
- I primarily race in ____n calif_______? I would travel _ s ca 2__ times to the East Coast, Mid-West, or Florida (note areas).
- I would/would not likely attend a season ending final event. (Assume FL).
- I would/would not attend various sanctioning bodies' races if they had a low cost "Guest" Racer entry fee. I would pay $______ per race.
- I raced in _p-4__ class but dropped out because_____did nt want to use fam boat___________________. I am/am not interested if there was change.
- Besides fun, this is what I want to see for the non-pro classes’_______trophy / tv__________________. (Suggestions: Low entry cost per race with trophies, cash purses, TV, both cash purses and TV)
Bottom line:
- No class change, I like ____ class the way it is! (some change?)________________________.
X Yes consolidate classes. I like the idea of larger classes, lower cost, tight competition and reasonable ongoing parity (handicapping) to 1-3 MPH. See my thread and what I proposed to popra on a very good handicap system,,
- If V-80, V-90 and CV-100 were the target top speed (flat water) for the new classes, I would race in _____ class.
If you know a non-pro class racer that isn't active on OSO, please solicit their input. Many believe the non-pro classes are an integral part of a successful Offshore Racing event. This is an opportunity to communicate your definition of winning!
Democracy doesn't work without active participants and voters.
I appreciate your participation,
Sprague
