there has been recent discussion about performance boat licensing on this board, and according to the stats we are not the problem, it is clear that pwc's and alcohal are the major problems. I will provide all stats as they are compliled. but here are a few.
Personal watercraft (PWC) account for 10.9% of all registered vessels in Florida (97.8% privately owned, 2.2% rentals).
PWC were involved in exactly 24% of reported boating accidents.
Rental PWC were involved in 49% of all PWC accidents in 2003
The majority of PWC accidents involved either a collision or a fall on a PWC.
38% of PWC accidents were caused by Careless or Reckless operation
16% of total boating fatality victims were on a PWC
Alcohol contributed to 33% of all fatal boating accidents

So that would be good at PFWOnly.com when they wipe themselves out there goes $5k max.
When some guy with turbines flips his cat and kills himself and a friend; $2,000,000 Claim (that's 400 PFW wipeouts) and 2000 of us are out a carrier.
Those thurd (PWC) carrier create their own problems we still have one that the Insurance CO are adjusting.
PS:read PFW has Personal Fu*ing Watercraft.

Where I live, the kayakers ( ALL rentals ) are a much bigger pain in the a$s than are the jetskis. For some reason, they HAVE to hang out in the middle of the channel. And will NOT, under any circumstance, paddle out of the way of bigger boats.
I know this is not really on topic, but they aggravate the SH!T out of me.
HMMMMMMM. . . . now, if the drunken jetskiers could ONLY start taking out the kayakers, which would in turn, while sinking, take out the manatees . . .

The last time the Tampa Tribune wrote about on the water stats in Tampa Bay and the State of FL SPEED was the least contributing factor out of 10. ALCOHOL was #1..
