Default remote oil drain

On my old motors which are gone I had a hose that went to the oil pan drain so I could just hook a pump to it to drain the oil. I want to duplicate on the new motors
I need to find the oil pan fitting that was used for this or the pan thread size is it a straight 1/2-20 or is it a pipe size I am at work and dont have access to a pan drain plug to measure the parts I would like to get something ordered today as I hope to be instaling this weekend

West Marine sells a fitting just for this purpose, complete with nylon washer, also as a "kit", not too expensive if I recall
