Question Boat lift removal

Brother has a 6,000 lb boat lift with canopy in a U shaped dock, is there an easy way to lift onto dock? He had a few guys help get on top of RR ties recently and wants to know if there is an easier way,..winch?? he does use aerator for dock thru winter but doesn't like the idea of potential ice flow hitting aluminum. Thanks.

Someone on the lake should provide a service to take the lift out and put it on shore.
