Has anyone tried Mercury's new Bravo X Drive with the 1:65 ratio? Wondering if it would work on 34 Scarab with T525s. I just heard about the 1:65 ratio and I know nothing about the performance.
Thanks

I was just told from a Mercury dearler in Texas that Mercury has a new Bravo X drive with a 6:5 ratio. I'm just wondering if he new what he was talking about. This is new to me.

I think it is a 1.65:1 ratio, like the 1.50:1.
Anybody hear of this?
I'm thinking, bigger prop turning the same or less rpm's should be more efficient.
Maybe?

I have the 1.65 gear ratio on my Bravo 1x. It's for use at a higher altitude like here in Colorado. I can turn a little higher pitch on my prop to help compensate the top end speed for the loss of power caused by the gain in altitude.

i guess a 1.65 ratio could be a little faster on the right boat if you dont run out of props.im already turning a 33 hydromotive with a 1.50 outdrive so i could never run a 1.65.i almost went to a 1.36 but stayed with the 1.50 on the advice from a few people that it will run faster turning the bigger prop with a 1.50.not sure what your turning for a prop now but i would think you would have to go up around 3 inches in props?.

Stock V6 have 1.84 or 1.82 (cant rememer the one off my head)
