Default Ordering new Fountain

Has anyone ordered a new fountain without power. I thought about having some engines built for a new 35x, instead of going with the standard power of 496's. I thought it might save some money if I would get any credit for not taking the 496's. Any feedback is appreciated.

I don"t think you can order a new Fountain without engines. Mercury owns part of Fountain.

An engine builder I used tried the same thing a few yrs ago. No dice. I believe he said it was a warranty issue. So he ordered the it with the HD transom assembly, but with the el'cheapo 7.4L motor. Pulled the motor w/o even starting it and sold it.
