Hey gang new user!
Got a 1996 7.4L 300hp w/275hrs. on it. she pulls 60mph on gps @4450rpms. been hearing "stories" on increased speed w/new exhuast manifolds. 2-5 mph. since it can breathe better than the ol cast monsters. any recommendations on which manifolds might work? or is this just blah,blah,blah, Gil, CMI, Eddie Marine ect? KN air filter? would have 2 change ignition also? will upgrade 2 a bigger powerplant in the future. 4 now just a easy fix 2 make her breathe.

With no other mods don't expect much,i didn't really even see much of a increase if any(just midrange) with the lightning headers when i was running a blown 502,Smitty
Jbravo,what kind of a boat you got,whats the name,probably seen you in bay city on the river.

"They" say stock exaust is fine for a stock 7.4 .
Changing it now probably won't do much but with future mods would surely help

About 10 years ago, I read in Hot Boat mag that a set of Gil Magnum Sport manifolds would increase my top speed by 5 mph. I spent almost 5 grand, had my head in a cramped engine compartment for about 10 hrs and gained ZERO!!!

These were stock 330/454's

Save you $$$$.

Buy the exhaust when you go to the bigger powerplants.
