I am rebuilding an HP transom assembly over the winter and need the tools to pull the hinge pins, upper and lower pins, seals etc. Where is the best place to get these at a reasonable price, or can they be rented somewhere?
thanks

Art, my T/As have the stainless steel at the hinge pin area and the book said the tool threaded into the stainless steel part and to use a slap hammer to remove it. These things need to pivot on something, if not a hinge pin, what is the correct name of the thingies on the side? How much is the tool to remove them?
thanks

shawn,
they are hinge pins.i made a mistake, they both have a tool(hp vs, std) the hp hinge pins are held in w/ 2 or 4 screws and my mech says that a quick way to get them out is thread in a 7/16-14 bolt, grab w/ vise grips and tap and wiggle.it will come out. art
