HELP!!! I can't seem to decide. I'm ready to buy one of these boats, and I keep weighing the pluses and minuses, change my mind twice a day and I want to buy one this week, before I lose both.
2000 BAJA Boss pk, loaded, 502 looks like new. 140 hrs. fresh water.
2001 PQ also loaded, and includes..ref, microwave, pressure water, 496 MAG HO. 35 freshwater hours. like new also.
BAJA is about 8K less.....
PQ faster.... but will ref/microwave bounce all over the cabin???
BAJA is much more well known were I live, Long Island, NY.,probably easier to sell...
Most people in the area probably never heard of PQ...but there finally is a LI dealer...
BAJA is quite a bit less $$$...
PQ probably better constructed???
PQ new engine technology, and closed cooling...
BAJA raw water cooled, boat will be used in salt water....
How often, how much, will BAJA 502 need new manifolds??
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED....

Which one do you like better? The Powerquest is a year newer, has more features in the cabin,8 grand isn't a whole lot of money,496 has closed cooling for salt water,Powerquest is a great boat,95 less hours,I kind of think it's a no brainer.

I agree with Burnsmazz. Which do you prefer? Have you driven both? Both are very good boats. As far as build quality, i have owned 3 Bajas and they have all been solid. I know P.Q. builds a strong boat too. That being said, it is late in the season, 8k is not a big difference and you may be able to negotiate some of that away. The 496 is a better motor than the 502 and the closed cooling is important where you are. If you like the way the P.Q. rides, go for it. It would be a better financial decision.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your info. All things being equal I like the PQ better. I can't do any better on the price though...I manage 25 people every day, make big decisions...but keep changing my mind on the 2 boats.

I have a 2000 272 and i hate to say it but i think the pq is better built boat, higher gunwales, heavier duty, better rough water handling, more of a true offshore boat,Smitty

Not that I'm biased but this is a easy one... the PQ (engine, build quality, ride, speed, options, etc.). Easily the best bang for the buck with top notch quality AND customer service from the factory if it's ever needed!

Flush after every run.
To check if you flushed long enough taste the water. no problem.
As a long time Baja fan, the PQ is much better in this instance. Year newer, better technology, easier to sell.

BURNSMAZZ, jjh3,articfriends,Vyper340,HyperBaja,
Your experience and incite has made my decision much easier, I'm buying the PQ. Now the long wait 'till spring. Anybody boat out on Long Island?
