Default Removal of stock steering cable ?

Is there anything I need to know about disconnecting the stock steering cable? It looks like I just loosen the large fitting where the cable attached to the rack. Does it just come out after that?

Thanks,
Dave M.

Yes, but you are better off removing the whole assembly. Assuming you're installing hydraulic steering.

Yes I am installing full hydraulic and yes I plan on removing the assembly too. I will have to disconnect the cable eventually, it seems easier to do that first.

Thanks,
Dave M.

Sometimes the Nut will be corroded to the cable, causing the entire cable to want to spin, if this is the case, remove it from the helm, or if you have a rack helm, remove the whole dealio, and spint the cable assembly with the nut while removing. Dont try to cut the cable with a sawzall, waste of time, been there, done that!!
