Default Replacement hatch hinges for a 84 302.

Any one know where to get replacement hinges for the rear hatch? I'd like to stay with the original style/mounting holes.

Thanks,

Bryan

Have you had any trouble with the bolts pulling through?

It looks like the prior owner added an aluminum plate on the back side of the plywood. That kept the bolts from pulling through. My issue was the bolts would turn when you tried to tighten the hatch.

My previous owner did the same thing, but the stainless is along the outside, looks good really.

Formula Outlaw and I were discussing on the phone how much these damn hatches weigh. They are heavy!

They are really heavy. I have mine apart right now and I was suprised how heavy the fiberglass is.

The hinges should still be available through the dealer.

I don't think it's the fiberglass that weighs so much. I had the hatch from my 311 dis-assembled a few years ago. All the foam and plywood sections were saturated with water and this significantly increased the weight of the hatch. I dried out the plywood panels and replaced all the foam with the foam now used in the new Formulas that repels water. The assembled hatch was so much lighter that I was able to lift it up onto the boat and reinstall it by myself.
