How many 38 KV owners have a notched transom? I know "Free" was going to cut one into his boat and "38KV" has one on his. 38KV (Jonas) said that he has seen one other Scarab boat that had a notched transom. How rare is this?

There was a giy had an 82 38 called Street Life his had a notch also.

Here's mine. My boat came with it from the mold. As Pat said, I've only seen one other 38KV that had factory notch.
This old pic doesn't show much of the notch, but it's the only "transom pic" I have for the moment.

Thanks for the pictures Jonas. I don't think I could notch my transom because the water pickups for my intercoolers are right at the bottom of the keel ( top picture) the other picture is on 38KV's. If someone has an idea of a way I could move the water pickup to a different place, I 'm all ears.

Why can't you have them here?

That's the same place mine are on my Fountain.

or you can use thru hull style round pickups & trim them for proper water pressure.
